The Rain in Spain stays mostly in the Plains

So today I had a fun moment. I woke up and said good morning to my alarm clock. Then I realized how silly that was and I chuckled :) It was a beautiful morning. I got to teach seminary again which is always fun. What was more interesting is that this time I to teach about Chastity...hmm. It went better than expected but I leveled with them. I mean I am not that much older. They said they appreciated it so thats all that really matters. Its about getting that morning dose of "soul food" so that you can manage the rest of your day. I always gave my teachers a hard time I guess, either by not showing up or showing up and questioning a bunch of things. Neal A. Maxwell that man knows his stuff when it comes to society and desensitization and chastity. Seriously some good quotes!! Its amazing just how right he is!

Por ejemplo: "However costumed or made up, lust is no substitute for love; actually, brothers and sisters, it chokes out the development of real love, causing 'the love of many to wax cold'. No wonder we are told to 'bridle all our passions that we may be filled with love'. Otherwise, oozing passions fill the available soul space, and double occupancy is not possible."
And in reference to pornography: "The adversary has also artificially inflated the concept of privacy , further lubricating the slide away from individual accountability! After all a few mouse clicks on a computer can take one, privately and quickly, into enemy territory without having to go through passport control, the only remaining restraint then being the checkpoint of dulled conscience."

Well I think that its so important that we remember that there is so much to live for. That there are so many good things we could be doing with our time. So why waste our limited time doing something that is not right? Why want to live with that guilt? I have been there. I have made mistakes too. But the truth is that there is a way to feel better again. A way to feel clean and right. I am so grateful for that. For Forgiveness and remembering only so that we do not do certain things again. I think it is the best part of our lives. We can CHANGE! Many things live by nature but we have the fantastic gift to really think about and choose something different than what simple nature would necessarily have us do. We are complex beautiful beings.

One Artist who I really love and appreciate is India Arie. She puts it out there like none other. Its great. My favorite songs by her are Beautiful Flower, Pearls ft. dobet gnahore, Therapy ft. Gramps Morgan, and There's Hope. She is truly an inspiration to me. Some people pick Bob Marley...I choose India Arie. Plus I am a bit more of a Rhythm & Blues kinda girl anyway. I hope you check it out. Her songs are catchy and truthful and good for a soul lift.

Well I decided to put the corn pudding recipe up here because its soooo goood :D yummy!

CORN PUDDING...family recipe (sugar free)
-easily serves five or six, like a main dish or dessert

MIX 1/4 cup Splenda (or white sugar) with 4 Tbs. Cornstarch
separately MIX with fork: 5 eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/3 cup melted butter
COMBINE
ADD: 2(16oz) cans cream style corn, 1(15.2 oz) can whole kernel corn
POUR into buttered 9x13" pan
DOT with butter on top
BAKE at 400 degrees for 50 minutes until firm and golden brown

ITs sooo delicious. Corn is like candy in a vegetable I love it! Carrots are too! Oh and surprisingly today I finally tried V8 vegetable juice and its not terrible! The last time I had it I was really young and had chicken pox or something so I really didn't like it. Then my family started getting the fruit veggie juices and I thought those tasted funky but maybe if I keep drinkin em I will start to like it. I have always wanted to like it. It seems like something I would/should like but I guess we will see how this experiment goes.

Speaking of experiments I am going to start trying something new everyday...thats kinda hard but you know what thats why life is all about right? Go somewhere new, talk to someone new, clean some hidden place in the house, look up something random,..etc. Not sure whats on the list for tomorrow exactly but I have a good idea of a few things I want to try.
Like:
-longboarding. All I need to do is find someone to teach me :)
- I want to hoola hoop again
- go look at the stars by the airport
-perfect the art of bread
-use all of our plastic bags to make something really cool
-learn how to make an origami bird
-learn how to ride a bike with no hands...Always thought that was cool
-get into the splits and hand stands...a 3 week feat I think. Lots of stretching and strengthening for both.
-learn to take better pictures
-volunteer at the hospitals around
-play one of those video games with my brother
-try drawing/painting again (I love painting)
-take a shot at the missionary lifestyle...bed at 10:30ish wake up at 6/6:30ish. Ouch

So yeah just a few things I will try out. I am excited. And it all starts tomorrow. Wish me luck! Can't wait to write about it and explore. I hope you find your own things that you want to try and experience and love. TV really doesnt have much draw for me unless I am really bored so, this is what I do to fill my time. Try taking time for yourself...the building of your character and finding hobbies you enjoy. Like I love gardening and cooking. Things I have figured out in the past few years and I am so glad! Its always fun and fulfilling :)

Wishing you luck and enough in your life,

As Always I am Learning

Patience
